Bouquets Ablaze at Sierra Arts Gallery
I am intrigued by the anthropomorphic imagery that appears in my Bouquets Ablaze series.

I met Crimson when she responded to an ad I had placed in the local paper seeking a model for my photography series, Provocative Portraits. This series came to be when I was working on my MFA at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). When I opened my photography studio in Oakland, I wanted to revisit this series as I’ve always enjoyed capturing movement on film. To capture Crimson dancing on film was inspirational.
From the moment she walked in my door, we have journeyed together to cultivate our respective artistic pursuits, as well as our combined professional endeavors. Through it all, Crimson has been my muse.
I am delighted to present select works of this series featuring Crimson for our joint exhibition, Beauty & The Beasties, at Sierra Arts Gallery in Reno for the month of April.
Labyrinth Walk Series
I will be presenting select photographs from my daily sunset walks with Crimson for our exhibition, Beauty & The Beasties, at the Sierra Arts Gallery in Reno. It is the first time that Crimson and I have exhibited together.
In addition to exhibiting the photographs of our labyrinth in Gerlach, I will also exhibiting photographs from our weekly walks at the Fly Ranch Labyrinth. In my upcoming book, Handbook for A Burning Age, I write about our practice of meditation, ritual, creating art and the important to commune with nature. It is my hope that these photographs might inspire others to do the same.
The exhibition runs the entire month of April with an artist reception on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

Who We Think We Are →
This podcast focuses on the distinction between “Who we think we are” versus “Who we really are”. We are joined by Will Roger; artist, author, teacher, innovator and environmentalist. In sharing a bit of his life, Will has let us experience what it feels, and sounds like to begin to become conscious of that which is often hidden inside of us. A true manifestation of the Art of Dynamic Competence.

This film documentary resonates with me and may allow others to understand my passion for all humans to living harmoniously with the planet.
Planet of the Humans dares to say what no one will-that we are losing the battle to stop climate change because we are following leaders who have taken us down the wrong road-selling out the green movement to wealthy interests and corporate America. This film is the wake-up call to the reality we are afraid to face: that in the midst of a human-caused extinction event, the environmental movement's answer is to push for techno-fixes and band-aids. It's too little, too late. Removed from the debate is the only thing that MIGHT save us: getting a grip on our out-of-control human presence and consumption. Why is this not THE issue? Because that would be bad for profits, bad for business. Have we environmentalists fallen for illusions, "green" illusions, that are anything but green, because we're scared that this is the end-and we've pinned all our hopes on solar panels and wind turbines? No amount of batteries are going to save us, warns director Jeff Gibbs (lifelong environmentalist and co-producer of Fahrenheit 9/11). This urgent, must-see movie, a full-frontal assault on our sacred cows, is guaranteed to generate anger, debate, and, hopefully, a willingness to see our survival in a new way-before it's too late. > Watch
Labyrinth at Fly Ranch
Crimson Rose had the idea and wrote a proposal to build a traditional Chartres Labyrinth at Fly Ranch. We started in May and we worked on it about 2-3 days a week for 3-4 hours a day. It is a 12 circuit labyrinth that is 104 feet in diameter, with 4 foot wide pathways for accessibility. We finished the stone work on the 12th circuit in November.
I took this drone footage as we were building it. We will continue to embellish the stone work this winter, weather permitting, but the basic form is done. We will see how the grazing animals negotiate it on the Hualapai Flat.
Land Art Generator →
In the Hualapai Valley at Fly Ranch and Black Rock Station, greenhouse and farm projects supply food for events and locals. Fly Ranch is a regenerative center developed through design challenges, eco-sprints, and tree plantings. This short film shares the first program initiative for the property.
